Don't Forget To Change Your Oil

Making car oil changes is the most basic treatment that is usually carried out by car owners. In fact, for people who are most lazy to do car maintenance, doing oil changes is still done. Unfortunately, they usually don't care about the right time to change oil and only do it when the vehicle will take a long journey. Especially for vehicles that are quite rarely used. According to them, car oil will have good quality as long as the car is not used.

However, is that really true?

Apparently, this assumption is very wrong. Because, the quality of the oil will continue to decline even though the car is not used. That is why, in addition to mileage, in the manual of the car it is also stated that the most appropriate time to make oil changes. Well, for cars that are rarely used but once used to take a road that has a high level of congestion, besides distance and time, you also have to pay attention to the rpm of the car. Because, even though the car doesn't move when it is stuck, the engine keeps moving so the lubricant still works.

What is the danger of not changing the oil on time? The following are some of them:

  1. Long-lasting oil must contain dirt and this is what will risk clogging the oil channel so that the oil cannot flow smoothly. As a result, the engine components do not have enough oil supply to lubricate while working and make the engine's lifespan shorter.
  2. In addition to not functioning optimally due to being obstructed, the oil that has been too long will be more black, thick, and lose its lubricating properties. So even though the oil can flow smoothly towards the engine, it still won't be able to lubricate the engine to the maximum.
  3. No engine lubrication results in more severe engine performance. As a result, the engine will require additional sources of energy derived from fuel, making fuel wasteful.
  4. Machines that are not maximally lubricated by oil will become hot due to the considerable friction power. In addition, oil also has a function as one of the engine cooling systems of the car. When this liquid is not replaced on time, the oil cannot work optimally so the car is at risk of overheating.
Problems that occur in cars due to this can also be a long-term problem. So, make sure not to ignore this oil change problem again!
